Renting A Beach View Condo With Kids

by Jordan Marshall

Visiting the beach with kids is a vacation they'll remember for the rest of their lives. Staying in a beachfront condo is a great way to make the most of the experience. You can all enjoy a nice view of the beach, and you won't have to tote the kids very far to enjoy the sand and surf. However, there are a few tips and guidelines you'll want to follow when renting a beachfront condo with kids.

Get an idea of whether the condo building is kid-friendly.

There are some condo buildings that are designed specifically for families with kids and others that are designed with couples and solo travelers in mind. While there is nothing to keep you from staying at a more couples-oriented condo with kids, you probably won't have the best time there. Your kids will be happier at a condo that really caters to their needs. Look for a condo building that has a playground for kids, kid-friendly amenities in the rooms, and an all-around family atmosphere. You should be able to tell just by looking at the photos of the condo online. If the photos show a lot of kids and families, you know that's who the condo owners are marketing to — and you know your family will fit right in.

Check what is provided before you pack.

Many beach view condos come equipped with a lot of the basics you'll need for a good time at the beach. For instance, they may provide beach chairs, umbrellas, and sometimes even beach towels in the condo unit. Packing all of these items for a whole family can take up a lot of space. So, before you pack, check what beach items are included in your rental condo so you don't waste suitcase space on duplicate items.

With young kids, choose a unit further from the beach.

Once you're all in the condo unit, the kids are not going to be able to wait to go to the beach! To help keep youngsters from sneaking off and venturing out on their own, you may want to choose a condo unit that's a little further from the beachfront. One that is on the top floor, for instance, is a good choice. This makes it harder for kids to find their way to the beach and gives you more time to notice if they slip away.

Getting a vacation condominium rental will make for an excellent vacation. Just make sure you pick a kid-friendly building, check what's provided, and choose a condo that's a bit further from the water.
